Goldstar Air presents PPEs to GSA

Goldstar Air, a wholly owned Ghanaian airline over the weekend donated assorted Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Ghana Swimming Association(GSA) during its 14th CANA Africa Junior/Senior Open Water Championship held at the Trust Sports Emporium.

The items included nose and face shields, alcohol based sanitizer and liquid soap.

The Manager of Cargo Services of the airline, Mr. John Ashong-Mettle presented the items on behalf of the Executive Chairman of Goldstar Air, Eric Bannerman, and said the objective was to augment the GSA’s efforts at ensuring that lives were not lost to COVID-19 during and after the competition.

Receiving the items, the president of the GSA, Mrs. Delphina Quaye, thanked Goldstar Air for making the timely donation and also acknowledged the Ministry of Youth and Sports(MOYS), the National Sports Authority(NSA), the Ghana Olympic Committee(GOC) and other sponsors whose generous supports made the championship a remarkable success.

She called on other corporate bodies to take a cue from Goldstar Air to support the federation’s drive to keep at arm’s length the fangs of the lethal pandemic, adding that since restrictions were being lifted and sporting activities bouncing back, “it was important we uphold to the letter the measures rolled-out to ensure our safety.”

According to Mrs. Quaye, the bigger dream of the federation was to make world and Olympic Gold medalists in the country with regular competition and the right support.
