Visiting Soccer Intellectuals yesterday defeated Police Ladies 1-0 in their week-three National Women’s Premier League game played at the McDan La Town Park.
Moussirietou Adina-Akpo got the only goal of the game in the 11th minute.
After bowing 3-1 to Berry Ladies in their match day-two game, Soccer Intellectuals came into the game with wounded hearts and chased their hosts for every ball.
It came as no fluke when tormentor-in-chief Moussirietou Adina-Akpo latched onto a through ball behind the box and volleyed it past goalkeeper Nana Ama Asantewaa in post for Police.
Fifteen minutes later, the Police Ladies were awarded a penalty. However, Elizabeth Dokyi who stepped up for the dead-ball had her effort saved by Selina Abalansa Amulisie in post for the visitors.
Back from recess, Police lifted up their game in a bid to grab the equaliser, but the visitors stood resolute to keep them at bay.
