Hearts to lock horns with Samartex in Accra

Accra Hearts of Oak will be desperate to recover from their disappointing scoreless draw against King Faisal when they confront Samartex 1996 tomorrow at the Accra Sports Stadium in a match day 13 betPawa Ghana Premier League fixture.

Joined at the hip on 20 points, the home side can overtake the ‘Porcupine Warriors’ temporarily if they avoid defeat against Samartex with Kotoko scheduled to play on Monday afternoon.

Also the Phobians would relish a return to their traditional home turf playing in front of their teeming fans with a win, having adopted the Cape Coast Stadium on interim basis with the closure of the Accra Stadium for maintenance.

Hearts are yet to display ruthlessness in their home encounters but with the league title chase gradually shaping up, they must discover their killer instinct to smite opponents like Samartex, a stubborn side away from their Samreboi base who have lost twice, won once and drawn three times from six away games.

Hearts coach, Serbian, Slavco Matic, despite losing five key players to the Black Galaxies involvement at the ongoing CHAN competition has enough ammunition to hurt the visitors.

Key players Salifu Ibrahim, Samuel Inkoom, Yaw Amankwaa Baafi, GlidOtangaMvouo and Kwadwo Obeng Junior are however available for selection with the visitors also missing their head coach Annor Walker who is in charge of the Galaxies.

League leaders, Aduana Stars’ title quest will be subjected to a keen litmus test at the CAM’s Park in Aiyanase against Karela United.

Hoping to extend their lead at the summit, the ‘Ogya’ boys will miss experienced marksman Bright Adjei who recently moved to Tanzania to continue his career, at a venue where his services would be badly needed.

In other fixtures, Kotoku Royals welcome Great Olympics to the Cape Coast Stadium, King Faisal face Tamale City at the Baba Yara Stadium with Dreams contending with Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Dawu Park.

Other games are Nsoatreman confronting Legon Cities at the Nana Kronmansah Park while Medeama trek to the Nana FosuGyeabour Park to play Bechem United today.

On Monday, Asante Kotoko have a tricky date at the Dun’s Park against Bibiani Gold Stars while Accra Lions welcome Berekum Chelsea to the Accra Stadium.
