Hearts kick start FA Cup campaign with FC Nania

Record holders of the MTN FA Cup, Accra Hearts of Oak, will begin the quest for their 13th title in the history of the competition when they come up against FC Nania in the Round of 64 clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Round of 64 games will be played on November 28-30, with all 18 Premier League sides joining the 46 qualified teams from the prelimi­nary stage.

The draw, held at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Sec­retariat yesterday, had clubs zoned into groups based on proximity and their respective regions.

The clash of the two former champions headlines a long list of regional rivalries that will see the Ashanti derby between Nine-time champions, Asante Kotoko, and Na­tions FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Defending champions, Dreams FC, will slug it out with Division One outfit, Susubribi FC, at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

The Greater Accra zone will see Great Olympics take on Golden Kicks, Koforidua Semper Fi host Attram De Visser, Na God FC face Vision FC while Legon Cit­ies and Accra Lions sort things out in an all-Premier League affair.

The Central Region will have Krodua All Stars take on Soccer Intellectuals, Kotoku Royals play Swedru All Blacks with Elmina Sharks battling Young Red Bull.

The Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa will host the Brong Ahafo regional cracker between Aduana Stars and Berekum Chelsea, Bofoakwa Tano and Sunyani Oxford will battle it out at the Coronation Park, Bechem United take on Debibi United, Berekum City face Techiman Liberty FC while Young Apostles play Victory Club Warriors and Mirema­no United facing Baffour Soccer Academy for qualification.

Two-time winners, Medeama SC, host Basake Holy Stars at the Akoon Park while

Skyy FC faces FC Samartex, Bib­iani Gold Stars host Rospak, while Fijai United sort things with Nzema Kotoko in the Western Region.

In other games, BS Pelicans will engage Koforidua Suhyen, New Edubiase Fc will oblige PAC Academy, Namoro FC will face-off with King Faisal, Benab FC host Akwaboso Young Madrid, Heart Of Lions against Akatsi All Stars, Hohoe United lock horns with Home Stars, Accra Athletic clash with Aflao Agbogba, Nsoatreman FC engage Maana FC, Hilla Stars FC take on Wa Power FC, Awarey Stars host RTU, Kasalgu Arrows Head face Northern City with Stead­fast FC playing Karela FC.
