Ashgold coach’s license revoked

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has revoked the provisional license of AshantiGold Coach Kasim Gokyildiz’s with immediate effect over its inability to authenticate the coach’s original license.

The Turkish trainer got the job with a UEFA A Coaching License but the FA indicated its checks have failed to validate it.

A statement from the FA on Tuesday read ”The Ghana Football Association (GFA) per its checks with both the German Football Association and the Turkish Football Federation is unable to validate the authenticity of Mr Gokyildiz’s license.”

The letter signed by General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo said ”In the foregoing, the provisional license issued to Mr Gokyildiz is hereby revoked.

”Consequently, the GFA would delete his name from the Competition Management System and you are by this letter requested to cease using Kasim Gokyildiz as your Head Coach, failing which the necessary sanctions (s) shall apply. This directive is with immediate effect.”

But the Coach has urged the FA to rescind the decision, insisting his UEFA A Coaching Certificate was genuine.

He expressed surprise at the stance of the FA but was optimistic he will be cleared after the FA’s thorough investigation and urged fans of the club to be calm.
