Hasaacas Ladies thank GLICO for support

Winners of the maiden edition of the WAFU Women’s Champions League, Hasaacas Ladies, last Thursday paid a familiarisation visit to insurance giants Gemini Life Insurance Company (GLICO) in Accra.

The visit was also to express appreciation to GLICO for their immense support before, during and after the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

Hasaacas Ladies made history as the first Ghanaian female club to win a treble, having won the Women’s League, FA Cup and the Women’s WAFU title a week ago in Cote d’Ivoire.

President of Hasaacas Ladies, Nana Bayin Eyison, was full of excitement and thanked GLICO for giving them a shoulder to lean on.

“We are here to offer our words of appreciation to you. You supported the entire 30 players including the technical team and provided us with insurance package in accidents, injuries, death and medical expenses and that is what you know you do best.

“We promised you the trophy before we departed Ghana and today we have delivered on our surprise. It is not done yet, our focus is to leave a mark in Egypt,” he said.

Mr Eyison also used the opportunity to seek for a long-term partnership for Hasaacas Ladies.

General Manager of GLICO, Mr Andrew Acheampong-Kyei, said their corporate social responsibility was to support sporting disciplines as they take keen interest in football.

“Football is one sport we value and cherish right from the Black Stars. We always cushion for life. For the past years, we have seen the unfortunate happen to sports men and women. They train and work hard but if accidents happen, that is the end of their career. This is why we have put together special packages for sports men and women,” he added.

He also lauded the entire playing body for a good job done and also assured and pledged GLICO would continue to do more for the team as they prepare for Egypt.

Skipper of the team, Janet Egyiri, offered words of appreciation and thanked GLICO for the support.

Hasaacas Ladies will participate in the first edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt which roars off in November.
