Let’s unite to break the eight – K.T Hammond urges NPP supporters

Mr Kwabena Tahir Hammond, Minister of Trade and Industry, has called for stronger unity among members and supports of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to enable the NPP break the eight-year rule.

He asked them to put aside whatever happened during the campaign ahead of the recent NPP presidential primary, and work together as group that was focused on retaining power in the 2024 General Election.

Mr Hammond, who is also Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi-Asokwa, made the appeal when he was speaking to journalists after the presidential primary at Asokwa.

He reminded party members that they were not rivals or enemies, and that the struggle for the leadership of the party was a normal process which attracted divergent views and opinions, to help rekindle the party structure, especially at the grassroots.

Mr Hammond said with the election and its attendant acrimonies over, it was important for all members to come together and refocus on the main political goal of retaining power in the 2024.

He said that whatever happened during the political campaigns were all political gimmicks, which needed to be put aside by party members and work together to achieve the objectives of the party.

Mr Hammond said the NPP was the only party that could manage the economy efficiently, to bring development to the people.

He and the ongoing transformation agenda of the government needed to be continued, to help improve the living conditions of the people.

Mr Hammond hinted that the 2024 budget, which would be presented to Parliament on November 15, this year, would bring hope to Ghanaians and usher in a new dawn of relief to the people. –GNA
