Tarkwa MP donates cash, items to Fiase Golden Royal Ladies FC

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa -Nsuaem, Mr George Mireku Duker, has presented sports kits worth GH¢15,000 to FiaseGolden RoyalLadies FC.

The items included three sets of branded jerseys, three sets of hose, 20 pieces of shin guards, four pairs of goal keepers’ gloves, 10 footballs, 20 markers and 10 jerseys for the team officials.

Already, Mr Duker, also a Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, had given the club GH¢5,000 to cater for welfare issues.

Presently, Fiase Royal Ladies, based in Tarkwa,  occupies the first position on the Western Region Division One Women League table and are left with one match to go for the Middle League,  in June,  this year.

Presenting the items to the team on Saturday, Mr Duker explained that, the gesture was to motivateFiaseLadies especially inview of their currents exploits and successes in the game.

He said, the gesture was also to assist them in their training, welfare and transport arrangements.

Mr Duker noted that, the show of determination and comradeship among the ladies signaled that, they were ready to clinch the diadem and make Tarkwa proud.

The MP said when the team flourished, players could even book places in the U-17teams and even attract international appeals.

Mr Duker added “We want you to be encouraged because at this stage, you are young, full of energy to play the game. Today, with football, we can create jobs for the youth.”

He pledged an amount of GH¢20, 000for the team if they qualified for the Middle League.

Responding, Captain of Fiase Ladies, Margaret Bermah, thanked Mr Duker for the gesture, saying “we pledge not to disappoint Tarkwa; we believe we’ll bring the trophy home.”
