MTN presents GH¢30,000, rams, food items to National Chief Imam

The management of Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN), on Saturday presented a cheque for GH¢ 30,000, two rams and food items to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh(Dr) Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, at his residence at Fadama, a suburb of Accra.

The presentation was preceded by Quranic recitation at the request of the company, for Allah’s continuous blessings of the life of National Chief Imam, as he hits the centenary milestone (100 years).

The GH¢30,000 is in support of the Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu Educational Trust Fund (SONSETFUND), to promote education in the country.

The two rams, 10 bags of rice, 20 cartons of vegetable oil and 30 cartons of mineral water is to assist the National Chief Imam to feast the needy during the Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the Ramadan fast, expected to be observed on Wednesday.

The presentation also includes GH¢c500 worth of airtime.

The General Manager of Distributive Trade of MTN, Abubakari Mohammed who presented the items on behalf of the company said, “MTN saw the persona of the National Chief Imam as symbol we stand for. You mirror our value of integrity, relationship and leadership which we hold very dear to our brand.”

He said few people lived to witness their 100th birthday in such a great condition saying, “This celebration clearly highlights Allah’s favour and blessings over your life and MTN is happy to be associated with.”

Sheikh (Dr) Sharubutu speaking through his spokesman, Sheikh Arimeyao Shuaib, expressed gratitude for the support and prayed for Alllah’s abundant blessings to the company.

MTN has been supporting the office of the National Chief Imam for the past 12 years.
