Accra Lions played one of their finest games of the season but still slumped to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Week 33 tie of the betPawa Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Solomon Sarfo Taylor’s 22nd-minute strike handed Kotoko all maximum points, taking the Porcupine Warriors to fourth position on the league ladder.
The two teams displayed some sweet attacking football in a bid to find the net to no avail.
Saturday’s result means Accra Lions, who are now placed 10th on 44 points, are not yet out of the woods, as defeat in their final game could be disastrous.
Kotoko, on 51 points, may also have to win their final game to be certain of a top-four finish.
