TOUGHA awarded Best Association in Tourism

Tour Operators’ Union of Ghana (TOUGHA) has been awarded the “Best Association in Tourism” at this year’s Business Executive Excellence Awards held in Accra over the weekend.
The award seeks to identify and publicly recognise private enterprises, public institutions and individuals that had displayed exemplary conduct and chalked up extraordinary accomplishment with regards to their business activities over the previous one year period.
The President of TOUGHA, Mrs Alisa Osei-Asamoah expressed gratitude to the organisers for the award saying “we are thrilled by this latest laurel which implies that our efforts towards promoting and driving tourism in Ghana and Africa is being recognised.”
“We are also energised and encouraged by this award to do more for the travel and tourism industry in Ghana and across the continent with the ultimate aim of spurring economic transformation and growth,” she added.
Mrs Osei-Asamoah indicated that TOUGHA was committed to continuing its mission of promoting domestic tourism for responsible growth and development.
She said the collaborative initiative with the South African Tourism (SAT) and its West African Office, the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) and NANTA, during the African Travel Indaba conference held at Durban, South Africa was a testament of some steps taken to promote Ghana as a destination for Tourism.
Mrs Osei-Asamoah stated that the partnership and collaboration would lead to the establishment of dedicated workstreams by members of TOUGHA focusing on specific markets and aspects of tourism and destination marketing.
Present at the awards’ ceremony were General Secretary of TOUGHA, Yvonne Donkor, Financial Secretary, Tina Ross, TOUGHA Advisory Board member, Emmanuel Mensah, Lisadel Mankor Sagoe and Mr Gorkel Abro- Adibo, all members of the Association and Mr Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi of the Corporate Affairs Department, Ghana Tourism Authority.
