Samira Bawumia: Govt’s achievements dotted across country

Samira Bawumia, the Second Lady, has stated that the achievements of the government are dotted across the country which the citizenry can attest to.

“Through the Ministry of Special Development Initiative, every constituency in the country has witnessed various forms of progress, growth and development in the first term of the Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo/ Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia administration with unprecedented achievements which has improved livelihoods,” she touted.

She stressed that the government had worked hard to ensure that the country’s resources were distributed evenly across the country which had enhanced progress, growth and development and had improved livelihoods of citizens by creating jobs and wealth.

Speaking at a forum in the United Kingdom, Mrs Bawumia indicated that Ghana had seen more progress, growth and development under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government than any government in the Fourth Republic and there were evidence to attest to the fact.

According to her, those who had travelled across the country could attest to the fact that there was no constituency that had not seen any project that has not improved livelihoods and since the resources belonged to the people they have been evenly spread across the country.

“For those of us who have the honour of travelling round the country, there is no constituency that President Akufo-Addo has not touched with development which is the priority of our government to make sure that we spread evenly the resources of our nation.

“The Ministry of Special Development Initiative which was created by the Akufo-Addo-led administration in 2017 to formulate and implement policies, plans, programmes and social interventions for special developmental projects has been the coordinator for projects such as the One Village One Dam, One District One Factory, One District One Warehouse, Planting for Food and Jobs, Rearing For Jobs and Exportamong others.

“The Ministry’s work has been reviewed, and it is currently a secretariat under the Office of the President to accelerate the government’s flagship policies,” Mrs Bawumia said. –citinewsroom.com
