Dr Lawrence Buah, Vice-Chairman of Akufo-Addo Government Advocates, an affiliate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged the leadership of the party to protect the achievements of the government.
He cautioned that “if we do not trumpet the achievements of the Akufo-Addo-led administration our political opponents will peddle propaganda against the government’s achievements”.
Dr Buah touted the free Senior High School policy as the most remarkable achievement of the government and appealed to leadership, members and supporters of the party to highlight policies, programmes and social interventions of the government.
He made the call at the launch of the group with 25 executive membership led by Dr Christopher Damenya which has the motto: ‘Ghana is working again’ and were sworn in to steer affairs of the group.
According to Dr Buah, there was the need for the rank and file of the party to work harder and ensure the party broke the 8-year governance cycle to avoid the nation does not retrogress under another party.
“We have to protect what has been achieved so far, as members and supporters of party we have work to do by helping in protecting what we have achieved but despite the achievements of the party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is on a propaganda mission,” he said.
Professor Bernard Owusu Agyemang, the General Secretary of the group, noted that the country was working again under the president and his Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and they must be commended for what they were achieving and stressed on the need for the leadership of the party to share with Ghanaians.
He touched on the economy, policies, programmes and social interventions of the government one district one factory, planting for food and jobs, one district one ambulance initiative to create opportunities for unemployed youth and encouraged them to join the group and benefit from packages the group and the government had for them. –ghanaweb.com
