PMs laud Veep’s digitalisation agenda

Presiding Members (PMs) of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs)have lauded Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia over the digitisation of the economy.

They highlighted the track record of Dr Bawumia on digitisation revolution for a bright future for the country.

The PMs commended the government for building digitisation success on the back of issue of biometric national identification cards, digital addressing systems, digitisation of government agencies and services as well as mobile money interoperability.

Joseph Korto, the National Dean of Presiding Members, lauded the Vice President at the 2021 National Conference of Presiding Members held in Koforidua on the theme:‘The Role of the Local Assemblies in Digitalisation of the Ghanaian Economy’.

He explained that through the instrumentality of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his hardworking Vice President Dr Bawumia, the country had embarked on digitisation of the economy.

According to Mr Korto, DrBawumia and other government stakeholders had received commendations from institutions and prominent people worldwide regarding the significant role he is playing to digitise Ghana’s manual system and appealed to the Assemblies to support and assist digital revolution agenda for bright future.

“It is not for nothing University of Nottingham chose our hardworking Vice President as keynote speaker for its Africa policy dialogues on the theme “Digital transformation in the public sector with lessons and opportunities from Ghana,” MrKorto touted.

Adom Kenneth, the Dean of Presiding Members from Ahafo Region, who is also the Presiding Member of Tano North Municipal Assembly observed that DrBawumia had helped the country a lot especially in the area of digitisation and they would continue to hail him for his good works.

Michael Ahwireng, the Eastern Regional Dean of Presiding Members and National Treasurer of Presiding Members, who is also the Presiding Member for Akuapem South Municipal Assembly stressed that the Vice President is a gift from God to the country and should not be taken for granted but must be assisted and supported in his transformation agenda.

Doho Sumaila, the Upper West Regional Dean of Presiding Members, who is also the Presiding Member for Sissala East Municipal Assembly, said DrBawumia is a learned politician with problem-solving knowledge and skills and cut across social lines and liked by many Ghanaians. -GNA
