NPP Shai Osudoku parliamentary aspirant calls for unity

A New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant in the Shai Osudoku Constituency, in the Greater Accra Region, Benjamin Nagai, has urged supporters to unite to enable the party win the seat and break the “eight”.

Mr Nagai asked polling station executives to support him to enable NPP win the Shai Osudoku seat, saying: “We must make sure we double our efforts in order to break the “eight” and also break the “32” years of slavery and dominance of the NDC”.

He stated that the time has come to increase NPP seats in Parliament, and urged all those who believed in the party’s ideology to join and wrest the seat from the NDC.

Mr Nagai made the call when he was receiving forms to contest the NPP Shai Osudoku parliamentary primaries, from his campaign manager, Kwabena Bempong, at Manya-Jorpanya, in the Osudoku District.

Mr Bempong, who picked the forms at Dodowa, on behalf of the aspirant, was accompanied by the more than 70 polling station executives.

Mr Bempong commended the group for supporting him to enable him win the parliamentary primaries and eventually the 2024 elections.

The party, Mr Bempong said was not previously visible in the constituency, but Mr Nagai, has helped in changing the dynamics.

The campaign manager said: “In the 2020 elections, the aspirant was able to garner 15,900 votes for the NPP that is why we are confident that he can wrest the seat from the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) in his second attempt”.

Mr Bempong urged party supporters to unite, and asked those sitting on the fence to join “the history making team”.

The former constituency women’s organiser, Mrs Rebecca Tei, said the battle for 2024 has just begun, and “This is the right time to unite and forge a united front towards achieving the target set for breaking the eight and unseating the NDC’s 32 years dominance.”
