The management of Legon City Mall on Saturday organised a health walk dubbed ‘Matrix Gym Family Walk with Dad’ as part of events to observe this year’s Father’s Day observed on Sunday.
It was also to introduce to the public the state-of-the-art- Matrix Gym in the Mall fitted with modern equipment for body exercise to keep fit.
The ultra-modern Matrix Gym has the strength area fitted with muscle powered machine, an astro turf for football matches, and the cardio area fitted with treadmill, biking machines and other equipment for body building.
People from near and far, comprising parents, children, young and the elderly, football clubs undertook the 5.4 kilometer walk lasting one hour, from the Legon City Mall through the University of Ghana village to Okponglo Traffic light, Okponglo Junction and back to the Mall.
At the Mall, the keep-fitters were taken through further aerobic exercises and were granted access to the gym to exercise with the state-of-the-art equipment.
The Ghana Health Service also undertook a free medical screening including sugar level, malaria test, hypertension, ear nose throat and eye test.
Sabestian Avadu, one of the Gym instructors said the facility afforded patrons a conducive environment to exercise and keep fit, adding “We are here to accommodate individuals and corporate bodies and offer the best of gym services to keep fit.”
“Per square mile, we have the largest and most equipped Gym with all the ultra-modern facility to keep your body healthy,” he added.
