MACCCU contributes to construction of police check point

Mim Ahafo Community Co-operative Credit Union (MACCCU) as part of its corporate social responsibilities has supported the construction of police check point on the Bediako-Kasapin road in the Ahafo Region.

It had earlier donated 10 buckets of paint to Mim Senior High School (SHS) and a packet of roofing sheets to Mim Municipal Junior High School (JHS).

The Board Chairman of MACCCU, Frank Kyei Baffour, who disclosed this at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the credit Union, on Tuesday at Mim, said it also supported sporting activities of schools with cash prizes.

Mr Baffour assured that MACCCU would continue to contribute its quota to the developmental and infrastructure agenda of the area, to ensure the socio-economic development of the people.

The Board Chairman noted that the Credit Union existed to offer competitive financial services to its members to improve their living standards by instilling the habit of savings among the people.

Mr Baffour indicated that MACCCU has reduced manual work to about 35 per cent of its operations, and has acquired a new software that will integrate its operations in and outside the office.

He said the Youth Savings Programme of the Credit Union saw major improvement, adding that “1,371 members were able to save GH¢ 229,477.20 as of June last year”. 

Mr Baffour expressed appreciation to traditional authorities in its operational areas, members, management and staff of the credit Union, for their contribution to the progress of MACCCU.

The General Manager, Mr Eric Owusu of the Union, implored Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of saving for the future and an unforeseen circumstances in life.

He noted that “all forms of savings protect money from thieves, domestic fires, unplanned expenses, misappropriation and inflation among other benefits.

“With savings, you accumulate enough funds to achieve financial goals such as buying a car and building a house or meeting sudden needs for cash”.

Mr Owusu reiterated the commitment of the management and staff of the credit union to project MACCCU to a global stage, through its unique service delivery and good customer care.
