Jomoro MP expresses gratitude to electorate for massive support

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro, in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toffey has embarked on a “thank you tour” in her constituency to express her heartfelt gratitude to the electorate for their massive support and assistance in the December 7, 2020 elections.

The tour, which started on January 24, 2021, formed part of the her sacred pledge to foster closer ties with the people of Jomoro to chart a common path to fast track growth and development of the area.

It was also in fulfilment of a campaign pledge to remain accessible, transparent and accountable to her constituents when elected into office.

Some of the communities Madam Affo-Toffey visited were Fante Newtown, Nsuano, Gyegyekrom, Patase, Cocoatown, Ghana Nungua, Kwabre, Anwiafutu, Anwiafutu Junction, Sowodadzem, Onzanyamenleye, Fire, Odoyefe, Paradise, Frenchman, Old Ankasa, Navorogo, and Tweakor.

So far, she has visited 18 communities and hopes to cover all communities within the Jomoro Constituency and on January 25, 2021 she toured Fante Newtown where she thanked them for voting for her and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama.

Madam Affo-Toffey reiterated her commitment, determination and dedication to push the growth and developmental agenda of the constituency forward and called for their support and assistance towards achieving the goal for the constituents.

The MP, who is also a philanthropist, honoured her 2020 electioneering campaign pledge by donating a submersible water pump to the community and she told them
“this is in fulfilment of a promise I made to you during my campaign I would provide you with potable water,” and reminded them “the work has just begun, I only ask for your continuous support and assistance to impact positively on Jomoro Constituency and I am ever ready to work with you”.

Madam Affo-Toffey noted that she would soon establish zonal offices across the constituency to listen to her constituents’ problems, challenges and also seek their advice for redress.

The Chiefs and people of the communities were grateful to her for fulfilling her campaign pledge. -GNA
