Information Ministry donates public address system to Yaa-Naa in Yendi

The Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa-Naa Mahama Abukari, has called for closer collaboration between government officials and traditional rulers.

He noted that such cordial working relation between chiefs and duty bearers would not only accelerate development but would also promote peace.

Yaa-Naa Abukari stated this yesterday when the Minister of Information, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, donated public address system to the Gbewaa Palace.

The overlord emphasized that chiefs played an important role in the society hence the need to always actively involve them in every aspect of development in their areas.

Yaa-Naa Abukari commended the minister for the gesture, stressing that it solves the challenge that always confronted the Palace when addressing public gatherings.

He reaffirmed his willingness to offer any support to the government to succeed in its policies and programmes.

The donation was made by the Minister to redeem a pledge he made after a request by the Overlord.

Mrs Patricia Dovi Sampson, Director of Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Information, who presented the item to the Yaa-Naa said, it was part of the ministry’s effort to easily carry public education and dissemination of information.

She added that the systems would assist the Overlord to disseminate information to the public during social gatherings and ceremonial functions.

She mentioned that the ministry was committed to assisting traditional authority with tools and materials that would help them to easily communicate with their subjects.

“This donation is part of the Ministry’s contribution to the development of the kingdom,” Mrs Sampson said.

She therefore pleaded with the Overlord of Dagbon not to hesitate to approach the ministry for any kind of support.
