The Grandmaster Tennis Event, organisers of the annual Accra Seniors Tennis Open Championship has fixed this year’s edition of the championship for November 20.
Mr Peter Annan, the Chief Executive Officer of the group, told the Times Sports yesterday that this year’s edition will run up to December 2.
Scheduled for the Clay Courts of the Accra Lawn Tennis Club, participants will compete in several ages’ categories.
“The prestigious tennis tournament on Ghana’s tennis calendar is opened to both social players, semi- professionals and professional players both in Ghana and outside,” he said.
According to Mr Annan, this year’s event is expected to be bigger and keener, following the interest shown in the competition by players and the attractive
prizes to go with it.
The championship would be under the auspices of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) in collaboration with the Accra Lawn Tennis Club (ALTC), and the patronage of the Greater Accra Regional Council under the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Henry Quartey.
