Heart of Lions, Hearts share points

Visiting Accra Hearts of Oak were held to a pulsating goalless draw by Kpando Heart of Lions in their betPawa match day five outstanding Premier League game played at the Hohoe Stadium, yesterday.

The two sides were originally billed to face-off on Sunday October 15 at the Sogakope Park but was called-off due to the Volta Dam spillage.

The host got off to a fine start when they tested the visitors goalkeeper, Richmond Ayi, in post for Hearts with a free-kick from Mustapha Yakubu on five minutes.

Hearts warmed themselves into the game and came close to grabbing the opener in the eighth minute but winger Enoch Asubonteng’s free-kick on the edge of the box missed the target by inches.

Back from the recess, Lions Coach, Fatawu Salifu, and Hearts Martin Koopman effected changes to strengthen their respective sides.

Salifu Ibrahim profited from a through pass from Glid Otanga in the 51st minute but his shot on target was pushed over the line by Vincent Anane.

The outcome moved Hearts to ninth position on 11 points while Lions remain at the bottom with seven points.
