An Accra Magistrate Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of an Indian businessman who allegedly swindled a colleague of GH¢282, 865.

The suspect, Rajwanshi Deepak Kumar, 32, was reported to have collected assorted goods, estimated at GH¢282,865, from a Ghanaian businessman (name withheld) but refused to pay for the goods

A source at the Accra Regional Police Command Public Affairs Unit confirmed the story to the Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday, stating that the Indian businessman allegedly defrauded his colleague by false pretence.

The police source stated that in 2018, Kumar was reported to have contacted the Ghanaian businessman (complainant) and collected goods amounting to GH¢282, 865.00 for sale and to pay the money later, but failed to do so.

According to the source, efforts to contact the suspect proved futile, adding that an official report was made to the police for further investigations.
