Black Meteors to resume camping today

Head Coach of the Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko, has invited 24 players to commence camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram to begin preparation for the last round of the 2023 TotalEnergies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana will play the winner of the match between Ethiopia and Algeria following the disqualifi­cation of DR Congo by the CAF Disciplinary Board.

The Congolese lost the slot af­ter fielding an unqualified player in matches against Ethiopia and Algeria in the first and second round stages of the qualifiers.

The invited players are to report to the Ghanaman soccer Centre of Excellence at 2pm today.

They are Danlad Ibrahim, Augustine Agyepong – Kotoko, Essu Williams-Legon Cities, Randolf Augustine-Karela United, Aaron Essel-Bechem United, Eugen Frimpong-Benab FC, Kwame Poku-Peterborough United, Oppong David-King Faisal, Dominic Nsobila, Salifu Samari-Accra Lions and Em­manuel Adjei-Attram De Visser.

The rest are Samuel Ashie Quaye and Razak Yusif- Great Olympics, Clinton Duodo, Seth Osei, Aziz Dari-Bechem United, Silvester Simba, Dede Ishmael-Dreams FC, Suraj Seidu-Hearts, Yahaya Moham­med-Tamale City, Issah Kuka- Real Tamale United, Emmanuel Appiah-Bibiani Gold Stars and Mizack Afriyie-Berekum Chelsea.

The next edition of the TotalEnergies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Morocco.

The tournament will serve as African qualifying for the Olym­pic football tournament with the top three teams qualifying for the 2024 Summer Olympic men’s football tournament in Paris.
