Headmaster found dead in bush

The Headmaster of the Anyeme District Authority (D/A), in the Amansie Central District of Ashanti, has been found dead in the bush after he was reported missing on October 21, 2019.

Mr Samuel Owusu, 39, a resident of Obuasi, was said to have left for school with his motorcycle.

Sources close to the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the district, confirmed the incident to the Ghanaian Times, stating that some members of the community searched for Mr Owusu for three days, and found his body in a badly decomposed state in the bush.

Teachers and opinion leaders in the farming community mounted a search for the headteacher after his motorcycle was discovered some 200 metres from the school.

The sources claimed that some community members who earlier saw the motorcycle, thought the late headmaster was responding to nature’s call, but realised that the motorcycle was still parked at the same spot when they returned from farm.

The members raised the alarm attracting a crowd that reported the case to the police, and they all searched for the headteacher, whose body was found in a decomposed state.

The body had since been buried due to the decomposed nature.
