Union pledges increased support towards nation’s devt

The Asante Union in Munich, Germany, has pledged to continue to mobilise resources in support and assistance of health and education development in the country to transform communities.

The group has over the years assisted and supported in the construction of educational and health facilities in a number of communities, and it is eager to go the extra mile to complement both community and government’s drive towards making things better for the citizenry.

Nana Opoku Agyemang, the new Asante Chief of Munich, speaking after his installation ceremony, said he was determined, dedicated and committed to uniting their effort to bring socio-economic progress to communities in the country.

The ceremony was also used to outdoor, the Asante Queen in Munich, Nana Abena Adutwumwaa Mmorosa.

On hand to perform the traditional ceremony was Nana Antwi Agyei Brempong, the Atwimahene.

Florian Wolfart, Germany’s Honorary Consul to Ghana, and Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi, the Atwima-Kwanwoma District Chief Executive (DCE), joined the large Ghanaian community in the Bavarian capital, to witness the event to show added importance.

Nana Brempong counseled the new chief to uphold the values of integrity, selflessness, humility and love, and it was by so doing that he would receive strong support, assistance and cooperation of everybody, to contribute their quota to the development of their country.

He reminded Ghanaians in Germany not only to be law abiding, but to do more to help the nation attract foreign investment, to create jobs and wealth for the population.

The union was formed 18 years ago, and was the brainchild of Albert Osei-Wusu and three others, with the objective of helping to pool resources to aid development in the country. –GNA
