Man gets 24 months for stealing 3 mobile phones, GH¢800

Ishmael Yomah, an unemployed 19-year-old man, has been sentenced to 24 months imprisonment in  hard labour for stealing three mobile phones worth GH¢1,600 and GH¢800.00  cash.

The convict, who pleaded guilty to the charges of unlawful entry and stealing, was recently jailed by the same court for committing similar offences.

Detective Inspector Joseph KwadwoAgyare told the court presided by Mr Eric BaahBoateng, that the complainant, Alex Biigoor, is a small-scale miner, who resides in Dadiesotogether with Ishmael.

He said complainant woke up and realised that his GH¢800.00 and mobile phones; Itel S16, Infinix hot 10 and Infinix Smart 8, which were being charged, had been stolen.

InspAgyare told the court that complainant with the assistance of his landlord arrested Ishmael at his hideout and handed over him to the police at Dadieso.

Prosecution said when police conducted a search in the convict’s room, they found three mobile phones, belonging to the complainant.InspAgyare said Ishmael confessed that he committed the crime and had spent the money. -GNA
