‘Govt engaging in practices detrimental to devt’

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team, Baba Jamal, has pointed out some determining factors which will ‘topple’ the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 general election.

He cited hardships, corruption, arrogance, disrespect, unemployment, increase in crime rate, introduction of new taxes, fuel increase and indiscipline among other negative practices happening in the country under the watch of the Presidency which would be among some key factors that would lead to the NPP’s defeat in the 2020 elections.

Mr Jamal gave the assurance that “the NPP will lose the 2020 general election on the grounds of practices that are not inuring to the benefit of the citizenry and the current administration is equally engaging in corruptible practices which is detrimental to the nation’s growth and development.

“The capital letters for corruption is the presidency because prior to 2016, the NPP continuously labeled the then government under former President John Mahama as corrupt and assured the citizenry of running a zero tolerance for corruption government should the party be voted into power and what are we seeing today?

“If you think you’re better off under the government, then there will be no point to complain however, if the exact opposite is what is being experienced, there is no need to maintain the government in power in 2020, since it has increased the suffering of the citizenry.

“I will urge Ghanaians to kick out the government in 2020, however I will caution the government to desist from any attempt to manipulate the 2020 elections in its favour because we are only ready for fair, free, credible and transparent contest before, during and after but any attempt on their side to turn things around in their favour will not be met with easy hands but fiercely resisted,” Mr Jamal warned. -adomonline.com
