The Overload
of the Akyem Abuakwa traditional area in the Eastern Region, Okyenhene Osagyefo
Amoatia Ofori Panin, has pleaded with the citizenry to be patient and tolerant
with the government as it fixes the challenges of the country.
“For any nation to develop, it largely depends
on the government’s policies and programmes as the Akufo-Addo-led
administration has many good policies and programmes which I patiently believe
the president will fulfil,” he assured.
According to
the Okyenhene, Rome was not built in a day and President Nana Akufo-Addo and
the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot fix all protracted challenges of the
country within two years in power, and needed some time to fulfill them and the
citizenry should be patient and tolerant as the government ameliorate the
plight of the citizenry.
Osagyefo Amoatia Panin pleaded after Kwabena
Panyin Nkansah, the District Chief Executive for Atiwa East in the Eastern
Region, appealed to him to lobby for the fixing of the deplorable roads in the
area, having assured the gathering that the current hardships would soon be
over.
“It is disheartening commuting on some of these
poor roads but nobody should believe that these challenges which have lasted
for 60 years can be fixed within two years, it is important to be patient and
tolerant for the current government to gradually fulfill its promises,” the
Okyenhene pointed out at a durbar of chiefs and subjects of Gyaase Division of
his traditional area held at Akyem Kwabeng in the Eastern Region as part of his
royal tour of 16 communities.
“The fundamental stimuli of every developed
country is access to quality education and I am hopeful the free Senior High
School policy introduced by the government will be the game-changer of the
nation’s growth and development for parents to take advantage of the policy to
educate their children.
“I admonish beneficiary students to learn
hard and take advantage of the availability of internet services to acquire
knowledge and skills that will add value to their personal progress and
development instead of using it for immoral activities such as watching of pornographic
materials,” the Okyenhene stressed.. -starrfmonline.com
