Assembly members lobby retention of NALAG president

Assembly members throughout the country are lobbying for the retention of Felix Nii Annang-La, President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) for his sterling performance and unique influence to the leadership of the association with its concomitant results.

“It is no secret for instance that, today assembly members have better mobility because of motor bicycles that our able leader has acquired for us, the alacrity with which our leader came to our assistance and support when we requested for the motorcycles and other logistics, impressed us and has positioned us to look forward to more resourcefulness from him in future,” the assembly members touted.

Eric Twumasi and Charles Amos, assembly members for Harbour and Padmore electoral areas respectively in the Greater Accra Region, spokesmen for the assembly members at a news conference in Accra on behalf of their colleagues lauded the president and Mr Annang-La for listening to their request for the motorcycles for assembly members across the country.

According to the assembly members, Mr Annang-La, made it his personal responsibility to get the government to purchase the motorbikes for them to facilitate their movement saying, “Colleagues from across the length and breadth of the country are full of praise because of the motorbikes, we cannot help, but to thank President Nana Akufo-Addo and Mr Annang-La for their gesture.

“Colleagues from across the country had since been calling and expressing delight about the motorbikes to help our mobility, especially in the rural communities which has triggered consensus amongst us to retain Mr Annang-La as president in the upcoming NALAG election which is slated for June 12.

“We go to the polls and the incumbent president is being challenged by two candidates but our president’s campaign message is being hailed as progressive for the association, with assurance he will be retained,” they stressed. –gna.org
