Former President John Mahama has expressed worry that the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has become an obstacle to the nation’s growth and development.
He postulated that the government’s unwillingness to complete projects started by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration was worrying because every new president is mandated to complete all projects in all sectors before commencing new ones, unfortunately the current government had reneged on that mandate.
“The 1992 Constitution demands that a ruling government tackles all uncompleted projects before commencing new ones in order not to create an obstacle in the nation’s growth and development,” he bemoaned and cautioned that “the posture of the NPP government will eventually deny the citizenry the right to have improved livelihoods”.
Currently on a tour in the Asutifi North Constituency in the Ahafo Region, as he continues with his campaign, the former president, speaking to the chiefs and people of the constituency, pointed out that the Akufo-Addo-led administration had become an obstacle to the nation’s growth and development by neglecting major projects commenced by the NDC government.
Former President Mahama also refuted claims that the NDC would cancel the free Senior High School (SHS) policy when the party wins the 2020 elections but the party would only seek to amend the double-track system in order to restore the educational system to its possible best. –pulse.com.gh
