Mulan Activity Centre marks Nkrumah Memorial Day

Summer School, Mulan Activity Centre, last weekend held a funfair to mark the memorial day of Ghana’s first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah on its premises located at East Legon.

The day saw scores of hearty children between the ages of 2-13 years engaging in various exciting activities such as bouncy castles, musical chairs, singing contest, face-painting and dancing competitions.

It was also an occasion where entertainment personalities Kalybos and Bismark the Joke took turns to interact playfully with the children as they participated in the activities.

However, young sensational DJ, DJ Switch got the children in a frenzy when she took her turn to play some popular tunes that saw the kids on their feet dancing and singing along passionately.

She added to their excitement when she later joined them to perform various popular dance moves.

Mrs Thara Mills, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mulan, indicated that the fair was an opportunity for children to be educated on the life and works of Dr Nkrumah – a move intended to inculcate the values of patriotism and a sense of duty in the children at a tender age.

She added that as a centre committed to talent development, it was prudent they utilised such occasions to provide children with an avenue to exhibit their skills in various fields.

The educationist also waded in on the raging challenges of the Computerised School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) by entreating parents and guardians to take time out of their busy schedule to ensure their wards filled out their forms correctly during the early stages to avoid some of the pertinent challenges bedevilling ongoing placements.
