2 companies support Ghana Police Service with 10 motorcycles

Lakeside Estates an estate development company and Japan Motors yesterday presented ten motorcycles, valued GH¢143,000, to the Ghana Police Service(GPS), in Accra.

The Managing Director of Japan Motors, Mr Salem Kalmoniin, presenting the motorcycles to the GPS on behalf of the companies, said they collaborated efforts to support the police in the fight against crime.

Mr Kalmoni said that “Lakeside Estates with the support of Japan Motors have built and handed over two police stations to the GPS, to ensure effective policing in Ghana.”

He commended the police for protecting lives and properties even at the peril of their lives.

The Director-General of Police Administration, (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu, who received the items on behalf of the Police Administration, thanked the two companies for the kind gesture, and promised that the motorcycles would be put to good use.

He said the motorcycles came at the right time when the police needed more motorcycles to facilitate patrol duties, to increase police visibility.

COP Yohunu called on other organisations to emulate the companies and support the police in crime prevention.

The Chief Executive Officer of Silver Star Towers, Mr Salah Kalmoni; Managing Director of Lakeside Estate, Dr Prince Joseph M.K. Ayiku; Sales Manageress of Japan Motors, Mabel Offei and other senior police officers, were present at the presentation.
