Amen and Amen Institute gives towards World Food Day celebration

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) has received a donation of GH¢10,000.00 from Amen and Amen Institute, a Non-Government Organisation (NGO), to support this year’s World Food Day celebration.

The day slated for October 16, is under the theme, “Our actions are our future, healthy diets for zero hunger world.”

Founder of the institute, Amen Amenreynolds Amen, making the presentation, commended government for policies such as Planting for Food and Jobs, and Rearing for Food and Jobs to improve the agriculture sector and the economy.

He said the donation was part of the institute’s corporate social responsibility to the United Nations in achieving food security and eliminating hunger.

“Amen and Amen Institute has been in partnership with the UN for the annual celebration of World Food Day over the years,”he added.

He appealed to government to continue to make agriculture in the country innovative and attractive to enable the youth venture into such sector.

Mr Amen commended the ministry for the innovation introduced to improve the agriculture sector.

The Director of Legal of MOFA, Mr Seth Mensah Dumoga, receiving the presentation commended the founder of the institute for the kind gesture and their collaboration with the ministry over the years, assuring that the presentation would be used for its intended purpose.

Some of the programmes lined up for the celebration, are float, television and radio talk shows and commemoration of the day at the forecourt of the State House.
