Police grab man for allegedly shooting 2 victims

A man, who allegedly shot and wounded two persons at Akotoshie-Adjen Kotoku, in the Ga West Municipal, has been arrested by the police on Wednesday.

Richmond Kyei Baffour, suspect, was reported to have shot and wounded Prosper Yevu and Benjamin Togutse, in the thigh and leg, during a scuffle.

The complainants, Yevu and Togutse, residents of Akotoshie-Adjen Kotoku, with suspected gunshot wounds and blood oozing, reported to the Kotoku police Station that they were shot by the suspect.

The Director of the Police Public Affairs, Superintendent of Police (Supt) Sheila Kessie Abayie, confirmed the story to the Ghanaian Times,in Accra.

According to Yevu and Togutse, on that fateful day Baffour engaged masons to work on land reserved for community engagements at Akotoshie.

Supt Abayie said the complainants told the police that some town folks asked Baffour to stop work on the land, but the suspect resisted and engaged land guards to support him to continue work.

Baffour reportedly pulled a pistol from his pocket, fired shots injuring the two victims, and some people disarmed him.

The victims are receiving medical attention at 37 military Hospital, and Baffour is in police custody assisting in investigations, and the pistol loaded with five rounds of ammunitions has been retrieved.
