Man, 32 remanded for robbing GH¢32,000 at gun point

A 29-year old Nigerian trader, Julius Efemena Lucky, has been remanded by an Accra Circuit court for allegedly robbing a Ghanaian trader, Wisdom Nelson to the tune of GH¢32,000 at gunpoint.

He is said to have attacked Nelson with three others who are on the run and yet to be identified at Akweteyman in Accra after Nelson had emerged from the Ecobank branch at Akweteyman with a withdrawal of GH¢ 90,000.00 intended for a business transaction.

The accused has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery but he denied both charges.

When the case was called on Thursday, the court presided over by Ms Patricia Amponsah remanded him to reappear on October 18.

Presenting the facts of the case, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Evans Kesse, said that on August 30, this year, when the incident happened, the accused and the three accomplices after attacking the complainant at gun point and robbing him of the said amount sped off on a motorcycle.

He said investigations led to the arrest of the accused at his residence at the Arts Centre with a hunt on for his three accomplices.
