Bastie Samir has targeted a third round knockdown in his upcoming bout against Lokossou Raoul at the “Asamoah Gyan Fight Night 2” on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the Bukom Boxing Arena, Accra.
The highly rated Ghanaian boxer is expected to stage a comeback into the ring after his last outing in 2017, when he defeated Braimah Kamoko popularly known as “Bukom Banku”.
According to the World Map Promotions signee, he was very poised for the upcoming bout and promises another thrilling outing on Saturday.
“I’m ready for the fight, I started training long ago and I promise Ghanaians that, the bout would not go past the third round and am working hard towards achieving the set target,” Samir told GNA Sports.
Talking about his Beninois opponent, Bastie was optimistic about his chances of winning despite knowing little about his opponent boxing prowess.
“I don’t know much about him but I’m ready to face anything he throws at me and I would take him on pound for pound and defeat him,” Samir said.
The main bout on the “Asamoah Gyan Fight Night 2” would see former International Boxing Organisation Champion, Emmanuel ”Gameboy” Tagoe face off against Russia’s Vyacheslav Gusev for the vacant International Boxing Federation International lightweight titles. –GNA
