In a bid to empower and enlighten the youth of Tetegu, Mr. Felix Odartey Lamptey, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Weija Gbawe Constituency, has issued a heartfelt plea urging them not to fall victim to the manipulative tactics of politicians as the 2024 general elections draw near.
Mr. Lamptey emphasized the importance of active youth participation in governance, stressing that their voices and contributions are crucial for the development of their community.
He lamented the historical trend where youths have been exploited and discarded by politicians, particularly during times of electoral campaigns.
Expressing concern over the prevailing issues plaguing Tetegu, Mr Lamptey highlighted the pressing need for credible leadership to address challenges such as unemployment, inadequate drainage systems, continuous dredging of the Densu River, infrastructural development, and the resolution of chieftaincy disputes which have impeded progress in the town.
Mr. Lamptey admonished the youths against succumbing to the allure of monetary inducements from political figures, cautioning them against mortgaging their future and that of their community for short-term gains. Instead, he advocated for a paradigm shift towards self-belief and empowerment, urging them to become leaders of tomorrow who champion positive change.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of governance under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, Mr. Lamptey rallied the youth to reject bad governance and demand accountability from their leaders. He called for unity among residents, urging them to set aside political differences and work together towards the common goal of community development.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Lamptey reiterated his commitment to serving Tetegu with integrity and dedication, pledging to be a trustworthy representative who prioritizes the needs and aspirations of the people. He urged the residents to rally behind him in the upcoming elections, assuring them that together, they can bring about positive transformation and ensure that Tetegu finally experiences the progress it deserves.
