RCS supports 3 institutions with cash, assorted items

The Ridge Church School (RCS) yesterday supported three institutions with an undisclosed amount of money and assorted items in Accra.

The beneficiary institutions included the Children’s Department of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Klicks Africa Foundation and the Akropong School for the Blind.

Some items received were sanitary products, groceries, canned foods, fruits, toiletries, bread, detergents, drinks, bottles of oil and packs of bottled water.

The Headmistress of RCS, Mrs Nana Ama AcheampomaaBadasuwho was addressing the media said that, the presentation to the three institutions was part of the school’s Annual Harvest and Outreach programme.

“Our support to the vulnerable and those in need, is a way to express thanks to God for his faithfulness for keeping members of the school safe throughout the period and especially in the recent time of COVID-19,” she said.

Mrs Badasu noted that, the activity was halted for two years due to the pandemic and was refreshing to rekindle it again to be able to teach the students the importance of giving and being blessed.

Acknowledging the supports from RCS on behalf of the other institutions, Founder of Klicks Africa Foundation, Mrs Mary Kuffour expressed her profound gratitude to the authorities of the school, students and parents who contributed their quota to support the event.

Mrs Kuffour also advised that, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) should always be embraced and not mocked at, because their situation was not a joke but rather needed all the attention and support.

Rev. Laud Gyampoh in a brief sermon during the event said, the inspiration of teaching students how to give was drawn from the bible story of Noah and the flood.

“When we look at the devastating period with the story of Noah and his best animal sacrifice to God and was later blessed, we always relate to this and challenge ourselves to continue giving especially in this current hardship in the country after COVID-19,” he said.

He further encouraged people to also do their best and support the poor, PWDs and the needy in these difficult times in the country.
