PCG Ga Presbytery inducts new minister

The Ga Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) yesterday inducted into office new minister in-charge of the Christ Family Congregation-Asylum Down of the PCG in the Adabraka District.

Reverend Kofi Ankama-Asamoah who was appointed by the church last year, was to spearhead the affairs of the church and to be shepherds of the members.

At a well-attended service officiated by the District Minister, Rev. Abraham Samuel Brenya-Abbey, said the induction of the minister was biblical, constitutional and historical to enable him achieve the specific task assigned to draw souls for Christ.

Referencing his message from Mark 1:21-28 on the theme: ‘Jesus has power over demons,’ Rev. Brenya-Abbey reminded the minister that every call of God was for a purpose.

He said his call to serve was an authority given unto him to disciple and win souls for the Kingdom mandate.

Rev. Brenya-Abbey said teaching was crucial to Jesus in His ministry, saying Jesus’ teaching on the synagogue to cast out demons did not only show the authority He had to teach the people but also the authority over unclean spirits.

“Christ has given us the power and authority to overcome the enemy if we study the word and apply it. It doesn’t matter the method they’ll apply, change their methodology and you’ll excel because you’ve a source and that source is Jesus,” he added.

He admonished the minister to teach sound theology and always rally members around in the performance of his duties while in humility, working hard to see to the spiritual, administrative, and material needs of the Presbytery.

The District Minister further called on the Presbytery and all who matter in the Christ Family Congregation to support the new minister to deliver the best for the church as a Minister in-charge.

In his acceptance speech, Rev. Ankama-Asamoah expressed humbleness to serve the church and to win souls for Christ.

This, he said, would focus on human resource, infrastructure and finances through discipleship and effective resource mobilisation to build the church.
