Over 30,000 passports are yet to be collected by their owners despite text messages sent to them to do so at the various centres across the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, has said.
The Ministry is, therefore, appealing to the general public, particularly passport applicants about the urgent need for them to collect their printed passports from the various Passport Application Centres (PACs), a statement released by the ministry in Accra yesterday said.
The Ministry said it was concerned that even though applicants have been informed through text messages that their passports had been printed and sent to the various Passport Application Centres, most of them are yet to be collected at the Accra and Kumasi Passport Application Centres.
According to the Ministry, passport applicants who are yet to collect their passports must visit their respective Passport Application Centres to collect their printed passports.
Consequently, passport applicants the statement added could also call the Ministry’s Client Service Unit on 024 079 3072, 024 091 3284 to confirm the status of their passport applications.
Meanwhile the Ministry thanked the general public for their cooperation on this important matter and assured them that the Passport Office remains committed to its mandate of delivering enhanced service to the general public.
