NPA awarded for Excellence

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) was on Saturday honoured at the Ghana Energy Awards held in Accra.

The Authority was awarded the “Excellence in Digital Service Delivery,” in recognition of its continuous commitment to policy initiatives on digitalisation, aimed at sanitising the petroleum downstream industry.

It was also to acknowledge the NPA’s deployment of technologies such as the tracking systems for bulk road vehicles and cargoes, the petroleum product marking scheme and the enterprise relational database management system.

These policy initiatives were geared towards improving transportation and safety of petroleum products as well as curbing fuel adulteration and smuggling in the country.

The event had former President John AgyekumKufuor and the Minister of Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh present.

The Ghana Energy Awards endorsed by the World Energy Council was aimed at recognising the achievements, successes, efforts, innovation and excellence of corporate entities and individuals within the energy sector.

It also celebrated the tremendous work of players in the industry competing in various categories of the awards.
