The Melcom Foundation has extended support to the Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL) and the Ghana Armed Forces Nursing Services (GAFNS) as part of its corporate social responsibility.

While partnering with the GCGL to organise its annual health screening exercise for residents of Adabraka in Accra, it presented an Akai 20L microwave equipment and home theatre system to the GAFNS to support its Nightingale Week celebration.

The Group Director of Communications for the Melcom Group of Companies, Mr Godwin Avenorgbo, made the presentation in Accra last Tuesday.

Mr Avenorgbo said Melcom Foundation decided to support the two both institutions because of role in improving human lives.

He said in the case of the GCGL, the Melcom Group of Companies would take up the cost of all essential inputs for quality healthcare delivery and allowancesduring the health screening.

The initiative, Mr Avenorgbo noted, would afford beneficiaries the opportunities to have their health status checked and help provide quality healthcare to vulnerable groups in the society.

“Institutional support has been one of Melcom Care’s strengths in reaching out for the public good and our criteria have always been about identifying bodies which render invaluable services to the general public in a consistent and professional manner devoid of discrimination,” he said.

In addition, the Communications Director said the support would “strengthen our resolve that we still believe, that it takes a healthy mind and body to build a healthy nation.”

Mr Avenorgbo commended the Military Hospital, for providing quality healthcare to people in many parts of the country in addition to taking care of the health needs of members of the Ghana Armed Forces.

“Melcom Care, therefore, deems it necessary to associate with the 2023 Military Nightingales’ week as part of this year’s International Nurses Week Cel

ebration on the theme: ‘Military Nightingales, Our Future,’ he said.

The Corporate Communication Manager, Graphic Communications Group Companies, Emmanuel Agyei Arthur, commended Melcom for the sponsorship and was optimistic that the screening would go a long way to benefit the public.

Major Alfred K. Ampong, Deputy Director of Nursing Services, expressed gratitude to Melcom for the gesture.
