LaDMA inaugurates residential bungalow for MCE

The La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) on Thursday inaugurated its first residential bungalow for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

It was constructed through the Assembly’s internal generated fund at an estimate cost of one million Ghana cedis

The 2-story edifice comes with 4 bedrooms, 2 halls, a stall room and other areas was constructed within one-and-a-half years.

Inaugurating the edifice, Solomon Kotey Nikoi, MCE ofLaDMA, commended staff of the assembly for their achievements in mobilizing funds internally for the construction of the edifice.

Mr Nikoi urged officers to intensify their efforts in the mobilization process by reposition themselves to collect enough revenue that would allow the assembly the fiscal space to provide more infrastructure to ease staff stress in commuting to work.

According to him, community members would be willing to contribute towards the development of the assembly through taxes when the assemblies were able to manage the funds it collected judiciously.

The MCE promised to provide the needed care to ensure the logivity of the edifice for the benefit of other MCE’s in the assembly.

“ I promise to take good care of the edifice , as an assembly we have adopted a regular maintainance culture to ensure that this and other facilities stands the test of time,” he said.

Mr Isaac Mensah, Assistant Chief Technical officer of LaDMA, said the contract for the edifice was awarded last year and it had taken almost one-and-a-half years to complete

Mr Mensah said since the assembly was created 10 years ago, it had been renting accomodation for their MCE, but the constructed edifice would save the assembly enough revenue to do other developmental projects.

The Technical Officer said the MCE was expected to move in immediately, as all needed incentives had been provided to aid his comfortable stay.
