Guilds donate metal gate, cash to church

The various guilds of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Anglican Church on Sunday donated a metal gate and cash to the church at Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The leader of the guilds, Mr Erasmus Odartey Xerton, presented the items to the church at a short ceremony and was received by the Priest in charge of the church, Rev.Father Stanley Nii Noi Mensah.

Mr Xerton explained that as much as he was not in fellowship with them all the time, the progress of the church was still key to him and that had motivated him to personally support the church.

According to him, the church needed a bigger space for more church activities for which it had started an expansion project.

“As we donate these items, we are hoping it will go a long way to support the new project of the church and we pray to always be blessed so we can continue to bless the church,” he said.

Mr Xerton encouraged members to support the church as their own for the work to be done.

On his part, Reverend Father Nii Odoi Mensah said the gesture had come as a surprise to him because the team showed no sign of it and that he was very grateful.

“Though we have a temporary gate, the church leaders have been planning for a better gate for some time now and this gate has come, as a surprise to us and timely with our plans,” Rev Fr Mensah stated.

He encouraged other departments and members to also come and support the church in order for the developmental plans and projects of the church to be achieved.

“As much as members are putting up their best, there was more to be done so we need more support in order for expansion of the church project to be accomplished,” he said.
