Ghanaians advised to rely on e-health platform

The Chief Growth Officer of Africa Health Holdings (AHH), Dr Banguu Delle, has advised Ghana to rely on e-health platforms for healthcare delivery in order to address the deficit of doctors and other health professionals.

E-health platform is a healthcare practice supported by electronic process where patients get the opportunity to interact and discuss their health conditions with doctors through the internet.

According to Dr Delle, the country currently lacked medical specialists in some areas of medicine especially dermatology and it would be prudent the country started using technology and innovations like the E-health platform to address the challenge in the short term.

Dr Delle who suggested this at the opening of the 46th anniversary celebration of Rabito Clinic, a subsidiary of AHH at Fumesua in the Ashanti Region explained that, e-health helped people to get access to quality treatment and healthcare.

He said there was also lot of economic opportunities once it was done right and patients got satisfaction and healing through that process.

The founder of Rabito Clinic, Professor Edmund Delle, also charged health workers to show more love and respect to patients “as medical service is more of love and not money”.

He indicated that, if health workers could take the advice and change their bad attitude towards their patients, it would go a long way of changing the perception of the public about health workers especially nurses and doctors.

“I have worked as a doctor for 50 years and what I always did was trying to find out how my patients and their families were feeling, where they came from before they even entered the consulting room.

This I believe helped to lift the spirits of the patients before they even got treated, this is something that is missing in our health facilities not only in Ghana but all over the world” Prof. Delle stated.

Prof. Delle admitted that, there was much improvement in the country’s healthcare delivery system but insisted that, there was more room for improvement as he called for more innovations in the sector.

He advised staff of Rabito Clinic to work through collaboration in everything in order to keep the clinic growing as it currently boasts of 16 branches across the country including one in Nigeria.
