Agromonti supports ‘The Gathering of the Royals’

Agromonti Company Limited, a leading provider of agricultural inputs and services in Ghana, has committed both financial and technical support, towards the ‘Gathering of the Royals” event, an agricultural resilience building platform for traditional leaders.

An initiative of Agrihouse Foundation, the developmental-influencing event, will have a representation of about 50 queenmothers and farmers from the 16 regions of the country.

The programme scheduled for Tuesday, February 22, 2022, is to discuss and strengthen working relations with corporate bodies, to influence sustainable farming.

 There will also be representatives from academia, policy, government, development agencies and agric institutions, who will have in-depth discussions on issues impacting farming and agric related activities, within their respective regions, identify common working path, that will help all parties practically address these issues, in the hope of empowering and further building a vibrant, active, structured and a more stable environment to develop sustainable farmers.

The half-day programme will also have the Member of Parliament for the Korley-KlotteyConstituency, leading the Call to Action session, which will guide and build the working path and manual for royals and agricultural businesses, who are already working or hope to work within these communities, through the queen mothers.

As part of the activities for the half-day event, there will be a Panel Conversation, with a thematic focus on Working Together: Role of Royals and the Corporate in acceleratingAgri-Peace and Developing Sustainable farmers.

Mr Benjamin Offei, Managing Director of Agromonti, in a speech read on his behalf during the launch of the programme said objective of the event deeply aligned with the company’s vision of continuously seeking to create sustainable economic, social and environmental values for all value chain actors in the country.

He said Agromonti Limited strives to forge strong and long-term relationships with all its customers and stakeholders at large, fostering partnerships and open dialogue. Our goal is to contribute significantly to growth and sustenance; to supply superior agro-inputs and provide reliable support services to farmers and other stakeholders in the agro-business,” he said.

The Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Ms Alberta Nana AkyaaAkosaSarpong, organisers of the event, said about 100 stakeholders have so far confirmed to participate in the programme.

“We are happy there is a great mix and balance, right from companies into fertiliser, irrigation, ICT, finance, tractor and equipment, machinery and marketing services,” she said.

Ms Sarpongsaid representatives from government agencies, donors and development partners had agreed to attend the event.

She also expressed gratitude to Eco Africa Resource Group, WAATCO,  Nanam Ventures, Benyima Farms and C. Woermann for supporting the programme.
