2 health institutions receive GH¢40,000 assorted medical items donation

A United States based Ghanaian company, Yaco International Incorporated on Tuesday donated assorted medical items valued at GH¢ 40,000.00 to two health institutions in the New Juaben North and South municipalities in the Eastern Region.

The items were made up bales of brand new customised blankets and two boxes containing 84 pieces of thermometers to the Koforidua Polyclinic in New Juaben South and the Jumapo Health Centre in New Juaben North respectively.

Making the first presentation at the Jumapo Health Centre, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Yaco International Inc, Mr Stephen Agbo, said the aim of the organisation was to assist the various health centres in the region and the nation as a whole.

He, therefore, appealed to the various NGOs in the diaspora to also assist.

The New Juaben North Health Director, Nana Yaa Konadu, said the area had over 26 Community Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compounds and three health centres which management was planning to upgrade two into health centres.

She said the facilities were all in the rural communities and lacked computers to enable them also go paperless and appealed to philanthropists to come to their aid.

At the Koforidua Polyclinic, the Administrative Manager, Mr Denis Trebarh also received the items on behalf of the directorate and commended the management of the NGO for the gesture.

He said the New Juaben North Health Directorate had eight sub facilities, namely, Zongo Health Centre, Densuano, Magazine, Adweso, Medical Village, Agavenya and Old Estate which needed assistance.

He mentioned in particular, the Agavenya Health Centre which he said needed complete facelift and pledged on behalf of the directorate to use the items for the intended purpose.
