1st phase Adentan Police divisional complex begins

Work has commenced on the first phase of the   Divisional Quarter -Master Office Complex for the Adentan Police.

The project funded by spirited individuals and businesses in the Adentan Municipality would help address accommodation challenges confronting some of the units at the Divisional Headquarters.

The one-storey facility when completed would serve as offices for tailoring and pay units, a conference room, an armory, investigation room for Criminal Investigation Department (CID), a Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU), stores and a Quarter Master Unit.

The Adentan Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP), Eric Winiful, touching on the motivation for the project stated that it was initiated by his predecessor ACP Joseph Owusu-Bempah following the elevation of the station from a district to a divisional status.

The elevation, he stated, resulted in the creation of more District Police Units and Police post hence the need for more office spaces to serve as the Divisional headquarters for all the units and departments.

“This elevation to a Divisional status comes with more responsibilities that required more men to direct affairs at the headquarters, therefore the idea to have more offices was one of the best  decisions taken by the commander and his men and they must be commended.” he added.

ACP Winiful indicated that the Adentan community has increased in population with numerous business interests that must be protected to give the area and the businesses that peace of mind to go about theiractivitieswithout any hindrance.

The Divisional Commander commended the vision of ACP OwusuBempah and the Divisional Quarter-Master, Chief Inspector Emmanuel M. Awadzi and appealed to the residents and the business community to support the gesture anddonate eitherin cash or in kind in the form of building materials to complete the first phase by December.
