WASS Experimental Basic School gets new 3-classroom block

A Three-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities for the WASS Experimental Basic School in the La-Nkwantanang-Madina municipality has been inaugurated.

Constructed by the assembly, the facility would accommodate the A and B kindergarten pupils of the school.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mrs Jennifer Dede Adjabeng, in handing over the classroom block to the Municipal Director of Education urged the school management to adopt a strict maintenance culture to ensure its life span.

By regularly maintaining the structure, she said this would make the school more attractive to the pupils’ especially the new comers.

“The building is for the pupils, as major stakeholders we must try and make the school environment attractive to the pupils by constantly maintaining the building and other facilities to ensure clean hygienic environment conducive to teaching and learning,” Mrs Adjabeng said.

She urged parents to take keen interest in the education of their wards to have firsthand information on their academic progress.

The MCE charged the school management committees and the Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) to have frequent interaction with the school in order to take decisions that would promote education in the municipality.

The Municipal Director of Education, Mr Enoch Asare-Appiedu, commended the assembly for the facility and added that like Oliver Twist more was needed to end the shift system in the school.

He pleaded for the completion of other classroom projects that had been abandoned for years to provide a good learning environment for the pupils.
