It was quite a scene when a suspected thief got his head stuck on top of a metal gate of a provision store he allegedly attempted to steal from.
Identified only as Khalifa, he was said to have been trapped for about five hours and gave up the ghost.
The incident took place at Anomangye in the Suame municipality on Saturday.
Khalifa was discovered dead by some passersby at about 7a.m. who quickly alerted the police.
Eyewitnesses told the Ghanaian Times that the suspect might have attempted to open the shop from inside and his head eventually got stuck.
“His head eventually got stuck on top of the metal gate in an attempt to open the shop from inside,” a resident said this.
Police from the Suame Divisional Command were later called to the scene.
A source confirmed that three other accomplices were being pursued.
Deceased has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s mortuary.
